We’ve been consistently blown away by the great responses we’ve been receiving on Wukrii through the comic’s comment section. We’re already becoming familiar with our regular dedicated community members that always post feedback in each new update every week and showing their support. As the Wukrii community continues to grow, we’re always looking for new ways to help enhance the interactions both between our readers and us.
We wanted to reward all of you who stick by us week after week, and contribute to our community. We value EVERY single one of you. It has become apparent that we’re clearly starting to outgrow the current commenting system we launched our still fairly young site with.
So, we’re giving the comments section a much-needed tune up and moving to a more robust platform. We hope our regular readers will love these new custom Wukrii themed emotes and hope you will use them liberally, that’s what they’re for!
This is the new comment system! Already you’ll notice it has a lot more going on than the old one. First off for all our users that already signed up to the site, NO NEED TO RE-REGISTER A NEW ACCOUNT AGAIN AS ALL YOUR CURRENT USERNAME AND PASSWORD WILL WORK WITH THE NEW SYSTEM! You’ll be able to try out all the new features immediately and, in this post, we’ll be giving you a full overview of all of them!
A feature that we felt was sorely needed and was lacking from the old commenting system. You can now go back and edit a post you had just created! Just click on the Edit button.
You’ll have a limited amount of time to edit your text. After 15 minutes, you will be unable to make any further changes to your comment.
You can now Subscribe to a comic post or blog post and be notified by email whenever a new comment is made!
This is the best way to follow any activity in comic/blog post or be notified if someone has responded to one of your comments. You can unsubscribe at any time. To manage your subscriptions, click on the My Content and Settings button to activate the pop-up window > then click on the Subscription tab.
Commenters can now follow other users, and get email notifications when they post a new comment. To start following a user, you just need to click on the Follow icon-button located next to the comment author name. This button becomes orange indicating that the following status is ON.
To unfollow just click on the same button again. It becomes grey indicating that the following status is OFF. Also, you can manage user following subscriptions by clicking on the My Content and Settings button to activate the pop-up > then click on the Follows tab. We feel this is an awesome way for other Wukrii readers to connect with each other in the community!
You can now view further information about your fellow Wukriians with the “User Info” feature! Just click on the user’s avatar or username and you’ll be able to see an activity feed of what comments other users have made on the site! You’ll even be able to see what comments they have voted up, what users they follow or what comic/blog topics they have subscribed too.
Users can now mention other users in a thread. Now if you want to respond to someone in particular, you can @ them in your comment. We’re hoping this creates more interactions within the community!
You’ll be able to see a list of the current users that have commented on the comic/ blog post you are viewing that you can @.
If you notice any comments that look spammy, trolly or overall suspicious, registered user can now flag the comment and have them reported to us!
We’ll be notified immediately if there’s a comment that’s being flagged repeatedly and take the appropriate actions.
This new commenting system even gives you the ability to subscribe to certain individual comment replies. This icon-button (bell) is located on the left side of the [Post Comment] button in comment and reply forms. You can disable this subscription type by clicking the bell icon again.
We now offer real time search through our comments. You can search by comment text, comment author name or email. Search results display without page loading and changes those according your typed words!
Now for our favorite feature in this whole new comment package, the emoticons! We’ve always wanted to add a bit of personality to our overall bland comment space and now we have the ability to do just that! We saw that people were using text emotes or plain emojis, so there was a clear need for them.
For now we have about 14 emoticons made in total. If we see that they’re getting lots of use, we’ll certainly look into creating more. Just a handful of the emoticons are featured in the announcement graphic and screenshots, but you can see the rest by signing up and commenting! Of course if you have suggestions for a new emoticon idea, feel free to contact us or leave a comment on this post.
We hope you’ll really have fun using these!
PHEW! That was a whole lot of new features to cover. Hopefully you find this new comment system great to use. If you have any questions or notice any bugs, be sure to contact us or leave a comment.
We hope this encourages the rest of you that have not yet signed up to join in the comments and participate. We are a friendly bunch and growing this community is what will keep this comic going. So we encourage you to sign up (it’s free!) and say hello!
Hope you’re enjoying these emoticons as much as I am!

Absolutely! Nice new addition for sure!

Thanks! I’m glad to have everything up and running!

Though designing these emoticons to look good at their small size was surprisingly a challenge.
