Thanks Dracone, we spent a long time designing it. We also know it’s going to be very different from what fans are used to seeing from the comic so far, especially as far as structures go.

Looks like Rao was pretty smart with his location. A natural cave that was most likely expanded to include the house, and it’s right by a source of water. Combine the source of water with a water wheel, and you got yourself a source of power to go with it.
Absolutely! This world does have burnable/consumable fuels, but it isn’t always easily accessible, or it has to be stored (kind of like more rural locations in our real world). A little wind and water power can go a long way, especially if you do anything that requires decent amounts of energy like repairing stuff, right?

It’s really cool. Although it kinda looks like something someone would build in minecraft lmao
We take that as a compliment! People build pretty amazing stuff in minecraft. We don’t want to spoil anything, but this structure is built the way it is on purpose, we promise. There is lots more to share!
It is round indeed, and there is a reason for that. Be patient, all will be explained or at least, revealed. There is more to see. But there are reasons for the design. (if you look carefully, it also has some asian-inspired design choices)

Didn’t have need for mechanics back in the Shire, I see.
Earthen homes have been with humanity in our real world for as long as they have been building dwellings and structures. We don’t want to spoil things for readers, but suffice it to say there are reasons for this design unique to the comic.
Thanks RubyRiolu! I’m glad to hear you’re loving the look of Rao’s house! Both Gatsumann and myself love the Ni No Kuni series equally! We also love the “Studio Ghibli” style it takes much of its world designs from!

Now that cool house
It’s quite different from what I was thinking but I think I like this better. The overwhelming impression I get from the islands of Wukrii is past and present respect for nature and the Wukai which Rao seems to be doing with his home and repair. The water wheel and windmill for renewable power, setting him home into the earth to minimise the land he uses, everything about his home seems geared towards keeping his impact on the environment as small as possible. He is still a machine man as the metal flowers and dragon show but won’t needlessly sacrifice nature in pursuit of his profession.
The house itself is lovely, really like the skylight and I see the Hobbit similarities that others have pointed out with the windows and underground- Wait a minute. I’ve suspected Rao to be a Drabunny. Half bunny half dragon. His house is underground into a hill. IT’S A RABBIT WARREN! … At least that’s my theory.
Art wise there sure are a lot of different textures at work here, the stone, grasses, metals and various types of wood (does make some sense the water wheel would need a different type of wood to the rest of the place). Good job meshing them together well. Very homely atmosphere of the house architecture and the rainbow shine from the windmill is a nice touch.
Long post I know, but I had a lot to say. Great work
Thanks for the mighty big praise on the house design Evil Tree! We both put a lot of thought in how the layout and structure would be. We wanted it to look both interesting, and lived in. Plus we have to show how much of a gear head Rao’s described to be. We were definitely looking to have it be a combination of both nature and technology, you haven’t quite seen yet in Wurkii. Also glad you noticed the metal flowers and dragon in there. That was fun to draw up!
We don’t want to spoil too much else about the place, but we can’t wait to show what’s inside too.

Thanks for this comic, i’am waiting for more (ecchi, romance, action) is there anything like patreon for support. (Even if english not my prime language it was stil good)
Hey BitcHunter, thanks for reading and joining our community! Because we publish once a week it can take a bit to get to other aspects of comic story like the kind you mentioned. We don’t want to spoil too much (we know we’ve said that a lot in these comments), but all we can say is that we aim to offer a little something for everyone, as we enjoy those other things as well and certain pages or chapters may have more of one type of thing than another ya know?
It’s tough to balance getting in those different things while trying to tell a broader story and introduce new characters, places, etc, but rest assured, we have stuff in the works! As for a patreon, we are very humbled you would even consider offering that kind of support. We likely will do one at some point, but we feel the audience needs to be big enough to justify all the extra stuff we would like to give you (that would possibly include exclusive ecchi content as well).
The biggest thing you can do to support us right now, beyond subscribing to our email list, is to share it with others! That would be a huge help.
Please stay tuned, because there is lots more coming to the site and the comic as we roll on with the story.

Well thats the end of Chapter 2, It seems like we ended on a cliffhanger. Rao’s house looks very cool and I would live in that house if I could.
There’s certainly plenty of cliffs to hang from on Rao’s house
Thank you Niko! If you think Rao’s house looks cool from the outside, we can’t wait to show you how things are on the inside!
I think that’s also Rao’s house, and it is one of the coolest houses I’ve seen to date

Um, so Rao’s a Hobbit? O.o
Beautiful art, by the way.
Look at the size of that truck compared to this place, it’s way too big for hobbits! You won’t find any of those here.
Well, the place is scaled to human customers, but the door to the living quarters is round, soooo…. ^^

This oughta be interesting
Hi Uezyteue! Glad to have you aboard the Wukrii community!
There’s certainly going to be a whole lot of interesting and cool stuff ahead in Chapter 3!
I also wonder what the odds are that that metal dragon is some kind of security
There’s lots of fun features to Rao’s place that we can’t wait to show off!
I’m getting some strong Ni No Kuni 1 vibes from this, and I love it!

This is a
….. “Unusual” looking house I’ve ever seen in a Webcomic

We were certainly aiming for “Unusual” when designing this house. We’re glad to have delivered on that!
big ass place. :O
You have to have a big place to fit all the things Rao repairs!
Wow thats an awesome looking dwelling. Would love to call that place home.
I would so be ready to move into a drabbunny dwelling myself if they’re this cool looking!
