I’m guessing it offers a good vantage point for observing multiple waterways while also getting a good read on some of the surrounding communities during the time it was built and active
Ah, another intelligent question! So she isn’t just another pretty face! ^^
Seriously, though, it WAS a good question, one that I was wondering about myself. I thought that there might be a waterfall or brook nearby, but apparently not. I’m very interested in the answer.
Mimi may be cute, but she did manage to get through her university education, so she’s got her moments of insight too. After all, she is trying to learn more about the world around her now that she has left the nest and school. Nothing more alluring than looks and smarts, especially with a tanuki tail!

Heh the crack about her “not being just another pretty face” was just a silly joke, and yes, the tail is a plus. ^^
Ok, finalised my theory in time for the Monday update.
I believe Masubizu to be a salmon-like fish Wukai, a fish linking seas and rivers and who’s migration is key to their own survival and the ecosystem. The view they’re looking over shows the source of a river that eventually leads to the sea, linking fresh and salt water and the people who’s livelihoods rely on both.
Let’s see if I’m right.

It’s not a bad guess!

Perhaps Matthew will have something to say on the matter in the next page (Which is coming up in a few hours or so!
Mimi – Always asking the right questions.

Mimi being college educated always has to be asking the important questions.
