@Plokman Maybe they are also in the surrounding forest she’s moving through to as well? Could just be surrounded no matter where she goes. You’ll have to wait and see.

Even after all that she’s still underestimating this forest and it’s creatures, when will you learn Kiki?
I see those ears pricking up in panel 3, sensitive Demimon hearing may be useful but it isn’t giving her peace of mind anytime soon.
Art-wise you can really see the movement of her run with the blurred background and the angle of her hair and tail, and I can also see a little jiggle physics between panels 1-2, only to be expected with her body and outfit.
You can just feel the ominous rattling and the sheer dread on Kiki’s face, the grim black liquid shapes of the creatures is simple but effective. (Though I must say here they kind of remind me of Hattifatteners from Moomins, albeit black)
What will she encounter next? A herd of Tikibi for her to mount to make her getaway? Something mystic tying to these Wukai? Our friendly mail Drabbunny? Whatever it is it can’t be much worse than what’s behind her … can it?
Yup, definitely not the fastest thing alive. Poor Kiki though it’s like being Arachnophoic and being chased by … Ok she is not Ron Weasley but still I am starting to really sorry she is cursed here.
Hmm just had a look back, this all started to go worse for comfort when she picked that fruit. These creatures could they be some sort of guardian of that tree? Because while they did spook her before she picked it, they seemed much more observant in watching her than this aggressive leading her to a colony and chasing her.
The fruit is the key to this puzzle but there are too few clues so far. Really hope she gets some advantage soon cause these things are too much for her as she is right now. I doubt she will go near any Forrest for ages after this, sweating her tail off will seem pleasant to this madness!
I think I have one thing pegged down, the fruit was definitely not a hallucinogenic these critters are real as we saw them since the one blinked at her inside that tree hollow.
Odd as most forbidden fruit tends to be red, blue is rather unique a color for well any fruit but yeah she should of held off on the munching. I guess her stomach can be as overbearing as Chowder’s Mr. Tummy, that is very hard to ignore.

I’ve seen a few comments speculating about Kiki’s speed. It’s got me curious though, is she able to run faster than Mimi? I love our resident tanuki girl , but somehow I kind of feel like Kiki might be a bit swifter than her…
I thought that might be the case; though we’ve not seen them together I kind of felt Kiki looks a little fitter than Mimi does. I’m sure Mimi has plenty of skills in other areas though!
I’m just waiting for a small skeleton to pop out screaming “RATTLE ME BONES!”

I had to look up what Moomins was, but I totally get the comparison now having done so. It was definitely meant to be a more stylistic panel.

She’s already pretty speedy when she wants to be. But maybe there is more she can do?
Quick and nimble when she needs to be, but can she float through the air and climb up trees?

I’ve wondered for a while, are those horns or does she have her hair bound up into horn shapes to either side of the pony tail?
That’s hair bound up in the shape of fox ears! Same with Mimi’s hair buns, which are suppose to represent tanuki ears.

Mimi isn’t really the athletic type, whereas kiki definitely is buy comparison. I think it’s fair to say she’d be faster.

Yeah, their skill sets are very different to be sure.
Wonder if Kiki still has that Will o Wisp attack.
