what a way to crush his hopes etc. though not telling him that they found a doll or something is that supposed to be a tactical play or something? :O
Mailpeople in small communities collect gossip on propose or accidental. as a result, if you bribe or, if the person is heartless enough, torture the poor mailperson just anyone can get that gossip.
I’m sure Matthew feels terrible for telling a white lie to Kiuwi like that, but its best they keep what they really found to themselves until they know exactly what they’re dealing with in the first place!
Kiuwi should still feel proud about finding potentially the world’s oldest paper weight! Whatever Matthew and the gang found, it’s certainty going to create some intriguing developments.

He didn’t exactly lie. He didn’t open the box, it opened by itself. And he doesn’t know EXACTLY what the hell he’s found.
