We spent a long time working on our backgrounds, and these in particular, and we sometimes wonder if people really enjoy them or appreciate them, given the amount of effort they take, so it’s nice to get that feedback.
Most webcomics do not make the kind of detailed backgrounds we do, because it’s so difficult, time consuming, and really a skill set unto itself. But we wanted our readers to really feel invested in the world, and that the story has a real sense of place.
